Hurt in a car accident? Whiplash, a stiff neck, back pain or a sore shoulder often show up in the days after a crash. If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident in NSW, your CTP (green slip) claim can pay for car accident physio and chiropractic at Tensegrity Sports Clinics.
This guide also explains how CTP works, what it covers and how to start treatment with us.
What does CTP cover?
Under the NSW CTP scheme, everyone injured in a motor vehicle accident is entitled to up to 52 weeks of statutory benefits. In short, these include treatment and care, as well as support to get back to work. The insurer pays for treatment that is reasonable and necessary for your recovery.
At Tensegrity, we treat CTP patients with:
- Chiropractic: at all our clinics.
- Physiotherapy: at our St Leonards clinic.
In particular, we focus on physical rehabilitation for soft tissue damage and musculoskeletal injuries, such as whiplash, neck and back pain, and shoulder, hip and knee injuries.
How do I make a CTP claim?
- Report the accident to police and keep the event number.
- Next, see your GP for a certificate of fitness.
- Lodge your claim with the CTP insurer of the vehicle most at fault. You can do this through the SIRA website with your Service NSW account.
- Then book with us and bring your claim number to your first visit.
In any case, lodge your claim within three months of the accident. However, if you want lost income paid from the day after the accident, lodge it within 28 days.
How does treatment work under CTP?
First, your practitioner assesses you and works out a treatment plan. Then we send a treatment request to your insurer, quoting your claim number. Once the insurer approves it, treatment goes ahead and we bill the insurer. Meanwhile, throughout your care, we keep your insurer and GP updated on your progress.
In some cases, the insurer may also approve a GP visit and a small number of treatment sessions before you lodge a claim, as long as you notified them within 28 days of the accident.
Why choose Tensegrity after a car accident?
Recovery from a crash is not just about easing pain. So every plan at Tensegrity follows the same model: first a thorough assessment, then hands-on treatment, then exercise rehabilitation to rebuild strength and movement. In addition, we explain what we find in plain language, so you know what to expect.
Finally, we also have seven clinics across Sydney, and our team consults in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean.
